Next week will be the start of Spirit Week. It's a competition between the classes in participating in the events scheduled. The themes are as follows:

• Monday- Twin Day

• Tuesday- Beach Day

• Wednesday- Crazy Day

• Thursday- Hippie Day

• Friday- Cougar Pride Day

Every year VWHS has its annual Spirit Banner Contest. Where all the classes, clubs, and sports compete to show their spirit. Click here to see pictures of all the banners that were displayed at the homecoming dance.

On October 9th from 8 to 11, Van Wert High School's gym will be hosting this year's homecoming dance. "A Starry Night" will be the theme. Tickets will be on sale this week.

Attendants this year will be:

• Freshman- Whitney Parrish

• Sophomore- Kaity Dull

• Junior- Jigna Patel

• Seniors- Nicole Dunifion, Ashleigh Smith, Rachel Wells

The homecoming queen will be announced before the football game on October 8th against Shawnee.

The annual powderpuff game will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM. The senior girls will be versus the junior girls, while the males will take on the cheering duty.
