Spring 2008 is a time of warm weather, bright flowers, rainy days, and most importantly, softball. The Van Wert Softball team began their first full day of practice on Monday, March 10. The teams consist of girls ranging from freshmen to seniors, and all of the players tryout for a spot either on the Junior Varsity team or the Varsity. Each team has about the same amount of players, and the same amount of passion for the game. The Varsity team is coached by Jeff Bolenbaugh (head coach), and Scott Williams (assistant coach), and the Junior Varsity team is coached by Missy Bockrath (head coach), and DJ Klausing (assistant coach). These fearless leaders will be leading the Van Wert Cougars to the best season they can possibly achieve.  

The girls this year wish to participate in softball better than they did last year. Carrying a record of 6-13 in the regular season, and 1-8 in WBL, the Varsity Cougars have been practicing hard to improve their record. This 2008 season everyone is encouraged to go out and support the girls softball team to help them achieve their goal!
