On November 27, students and staff didn't take their
usual route to Crawford Street. Instead students and staff made their
way down 118 to the new high school/middle school complex. The new
school brought about many changes dealing with technology, emotions, and routine.
The new school brings new technology that wasn't present in the Crawford
Street location. Smart boards, microphones, and projectors fill the
rooms in the new facility. Some students felt the anxiety of being a
"freshman" all over because of the unfamiliar location. The complex is
composed of both the middle and high school. The middle now consists of
sixth graders, as well as seventh and eighth grade.
Adjusting to the new facility is a difficult transition for both
students and staff. The whole high school, however, has started to
adjust to this atmosphere quickly. Due to everyone's cooperation this
has been a
successful transition. The attitude about moving to this building was
negative while at the old school, but now positive attitudes are
present. Students are excited about being educated at the new facility. The same "Cougar Pride" has traveled from
Crawford to 118, the NEW Cougar Den.
