The class of 2008 was recognized on Monday, May 19, 2008 in the NPAC. The class as a whole earned 1.6 million dollars over 4 years. Roughly 44% of the class is going to a 4 year college, and 20% is going to a 2 year college. This class has a bright future and the Van Wert High School web design team would like to wish you the best of luck!

Hannah Phlipot was presented a plaque for receiving 12 varsity letters at Van Wert High School. Hannah is pictured with Mr. Bill Clifton, principal.

Ralph E. McCuddy Memorial Scholarship is given in his honor by his family to a student who is majoring in a science field. Mr. McCuddy was a science teacher at Van Wert High School. Pictured is Ty Laemmle and Mrs. Connie Ainsworth,

The Van Wert Optimist Club Service Scholarship is a
scholarship given to a student who has given 100 hours of service to the Van Wert community. Pictured is Ashtin Hoverman with Mr. Bill Clifton, principal.
Principal “Cougar Pride” Awards were given by Mr. Bill Clifton to John Brown and Adrienne Moser. Students are chosen by Mr. Clifton based on their involvement in school and extracurricular activities, character, respect and
school pride.

Captain George L. Purmont Prizes were awarded to the

Van Wert Service Pack Scholarship is sponsored by the Van Wert Service Club and recognizes students who have demonstrated community involvement through service projects.

Alan Leatherman is the recipient of the Wal-Mart Foundation Community Scholarship. He is pictured with Mrs. Connie Ainsworth, senior guidance counselor.
The WBL League is honoring students who as juniors have a 3.75 GPA after 5 semesters and have received 2 varsity letters. Pictured are seniors (left to right) Nathan Taylor, Brittany Bolenbaugh, Hannah Phlipot, Doug Bair, and Heather Easley who have a 3.75 GPA after 7 semesters and have earned 3 varsity letters throughout high school.
Adolph & Leticia Weck Scholarship is a memorial scholarship, which was presented to Annie Poling and Spencer Moody.
