Mrs. Clouse's economic and business classes are competing in the stock market game. The game gives students a realistic approach to the stock market, instead of just learning out of the workbook. The game is worldwide, with teams joining everyday. There is a total of 92 teams in this region as of now. The game lasts for 10 competitive weeks.

Before starting the game, students took notes over the stock market and listened to advice from Pat Jackson, Junior Achievement advisor. Students were broken into teams and were asked to come up with their own team name. The students also chose who they wanted to fill each position.

Due to the number of school delays and cancellations, Van Wert students are behind in the game compared to students from other regions. This has made the rankings of students lower than usually. Also contributing to the lower rankings is the volatile stock market.

Rules of Stock Market Game

Each team will have $100,000 to assemble a portfolio.
Each team must have at least 5 stocks.
All buy orders must be a minimum of 100 shares.

Team members are divided into the following positions:

All students must listen to business reports daily and become informed of market changes and reasons behind those changes.

Team President- enter all transactions into the website each day, print out current holdings for secretary daily, final say if team members don't agree about a purchase or sale, keep track of portfolio over spring break or delegate responsibility to another team member. Watch the portfolio to be sure it is diversified.

Team Secretary- keep team portfolio & data, show the current price of each stock or mutual fund the team owns at the close of the market each day or week, put information in excel, keep detailed records, and print weekly chart of team portfolios.

Team researchers- investigate stocks for purchase or sale, print out a brief company profile for each stock your team owns during the game, and include summary of the company's profile.
