Attention Students: You may make schedule changes before
school, during lunch, after school or during the class you
would like to change.  You must have a note from a parent to
change your schedule. The last day to make schedule changes
will be Friday, September 8th.

A reminder to all underclassmen that pictures will be
tomorrow.  You are to bring your picture order with you and
give it  to the photographer at that time. 

The Scarlet Squad is a school club designed as a “behind
the scenes” organization that supports our school’s
extra curriculum activities such as athletics, band, and
others.  Creative individuals who want to have fun and
foster school spirit are encouraged to join.  There will be
an organizational meeting on Thursday, September 7th after
school in room 308.  Please see Mrs. Trittschuh if you have
any questions.

Attention Beta Members: Beta Club will hold its first
meeting at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12th in room 602.
 We will start planning the homecoming dance at this
meeting, so be sure to attend if you want to be involved.
New members should attend to receive their Beta pins and
certificates.

The girls cross country team finished in 2nd place at the
Wayne Trace Invitational yesterday. Top finisher for Van
Wert was Lauren Taylor in 3rd place.

The boys cross country team won the team title at the Wayne
Trace Invitational on Tuesday.  The Cougars placed three
runners in the top 10 overall. Steve Sanderson finished 3rd,
Kenton Holliday 4th, and Jacob Bagley was fifth.  The boys
record is now 15-2 on the season.

The Lady Cougars Varsity Volleyball team fell Tuesday night
to the Lady Wildcats of Kalida, 22-25, 21-25, 21-25. Their
record now stands at 0-2.  The Cougar JV team defeated
Kalida 25-15, 18-25,25-16 to go 1-1 on the season and the
Freshmen defeated Wapak in 2 games to go 2-0 on the season.
The Varsity and JV teams will be in action again Thursday
against Bath in the Cougar’s Den.

Student Council will meet tomorrow morning at 7:20 a.m. in
room 301.  All class officers and class representatives are
to attend this important meeting.

With the four top Cougar golfers firing rounds under 40, the
locals captured their second WBL victory by defeating the
Bulldogs of Celina by a score of 150 to 167.  The Cougar’s
record now stands at 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the WBL.  The
next match is this Thursday against the Defiance Bulldogs at
4:30 at The Willow Bend Country Club.

The Van Wert Varsity Volleyball team fell to Delphos St.
Johns last night, 15-25, 20-25, 25-15, and 16-25.  The JV
team also fell to St. Johns 12-25, 21-25.  The Freshmen team
was also in action and defeated Elida in 2 games.  All three
teams have their home opener tonight, the Freshmen opening
with Wapak at 4:30 and the JV and Varsity playing against
Kalida.

Student Council will meet on Wednesday, August 30 at 7:20 AM in room 301. All class officers and class representatives are to attend this important meeting.

The boys cross country team finished third on Saturday at the very competitive Bob Shul Invitational at West Milton. The Cougars missed winning the invite by 10 points. Top ten overall Van Wert finishers were Steve Sanderson, Kenton Holliday, and Jacob Bagley.

The Van Wert girls cross country team placed 2nd at the Bob Schul Invitational at Milton-Union on Saturday. Lauren Taylor, Heather Easley, and Taylor Greve all finished in the top 10. The girls' team will compete on Tuesday at the Wayne Trace Invitational held at Grover Hill.
