*With the 2005-2006 school year "in the books", the Web Design team put
together a final look at some of the important happenings of the past
year. Sporting Events, local events, media trends, popular

Graduation...Class of 2006! |
Commencement exercises were held for Van Wert High School on Sunday, May
28, 2006. More pictures and details will be posted on Tuesday, May
30.

Alex Kelly finishes 13th in State! |
Saturday, June 3, Alex Kelly represented Van Wert at the OHSAA State
Track meet. Alex finished his Jr. season, jumping 6' and placing
13th in Div. II. Congratulations Alex on a great season and
representing the Cougar Track team well in Columbus.

Summer Commitments |

Economics visits Central |

On Monday morning, May 8, the Economics class left early (7 A.M.!)
for a tour of Central Mutual Insurance Company arranged by our classroom
business consultant, Mr. Pat Jackson. First, class members went into
Central’s beautiful oak and marble front entrance and moved to the third
floor
conference room. There, they made presentations to Central’s president,
Mr. Bill Purmort. Mr. Purmort then spoke to the class about Central’s
history, product, sales regions, and the building project.

Summer Concerts |

Each summer a ton of musicians/ bands go on tour. For many teenagers
it is the highlight of their summer. This year a lot of locals are going
to be heading to various concerts though out the state some are even
traveling farther to see their favorite band. Junior Katie Dickinson
said, "I am excited to go to the Country Concert this year, there are
going to be a ton of amazing artists there."

Virtual tour of VWHS now online! |

Ever wonder what things are like inside the halls of Van Wert High
School now? Well, after a lot of work, the Web Design class has
now preserved the halls of VWHS through an online Virtual Tour.
Every room can be viewed, including the closets and restrooms!
With this being the last full year in the current High School building,
we thought people may want to browse around and see what things are like
inside the building. We are currently working on doing the same
project for the Middle School, so feel free to give us any feedback you
may have. Also notice that we have added a link on the left side
of this page so that anytime in the future you can come back and access
this tour.
