Prom 2008 |

It's springtime, which in a lot of teens minds means, PROM TIME! Prom is a
time of year to get all dressed up, take pictures, eat at fancy restaurants, and
of course, dance. Prom is an event at Van Wert High School that many juniors and
seniors look forward to throughout the year. This year, the prom theme is 'The
Golden Age', where juniors will be putting together a whole new world for the
seniors to enjoy.

VW County Track Meet |

On Tuesday April 29th, Van Wert Boys and
Girls track team traveled to Crestview to compete in the Van Wert
County Track Meet Invitational. The Boys came away as the champions
defeating Crestview and Lincolnview. The girls track team tied for first
with Lincolnview and Crestview finishing last.

This Friday (April 25), both the boys baseball and the
girls softball teams will be participating in two much anticipated WBL match-ups. Both teams will be competing against two very strong
state ranked Defiance programs.

"Hello Dolly" VWHS Musical |

Van Wert High School students have been working hard to prepare for this
year's school musical which will be performed this week on April 17th, 18th, and
19th. Hello Dolly is the musical taking center stage and it tells the
story of a meddling match maker, Dolly Levi, who is trying to pair up the
millionaire, Mr. Vandergelder, with a suitable wife. Things turn
to complete chaos when Mr. Vandergelder's employees get in the mix of
Dolly's matchmaking plans.

Unemployment Affects Van Wert |

Van Wert is experiencing a hard time in the subject of unemployment. The
main issue in Van Wert as of right now is the Kongsberg lock out.
With the rise in unemployment throughout Van Wert, many would think that
it wouldn't harm the community in any way. But the lock out of Kongsberg
is hurting a lot of families, which in turn, hurts the community.

3rd Nine Week's Honor Roll |

Goodwill Games & Talent Show |

Every year, students of Van Wert High have the chance to earn a free day of
school for games and activities. Again this year, the students donated
enough items to the Food Drive to deserve such a day.

Mrs. Brown and Her Many Classes |

Mrs. Brown, a teacher at Van Wert High School, is one of a kind. After 22
years of teaching, Mrs. Brown shows no signs of slowing down. She currently
teaches 5 classes at Van Wert High School including Parenting, On Your Own,
Gourmet Cooking, Food Power, and I Can.

VWHS Gets Hypnotized! |

Tuesday March the 4th, Dr. Jim Wand, a hypnotist, came to Van Wert
High School. He had about 30 volunteers, students and teachers, come up to the
stage to be hypnotized. Through out the show he had them do crazy and funny
actions. The students really enjoyed the show!!

The Niswonger Performing Arts Center has a lot of upcoming events
for family, friends, and students. Everyone is invited to attend!
One of the bigger events coming up in March is, "For the Love of the
Game." Included is a Guitar Hero contest, for any Guitar Hero fans
to join in or just watch! The PAC has really given Van Wert and the
surrounding counties an opportunity to have fun and watch live
performances at an affordable price.

Van Wert High School, home of the Cougars, is located in
Van Wert, Ohio. VWHS has an enrollment of approximately 700 students, and
competes in the always tough Western Buckeye League.
